Being licensed in Ontario for 14 years and having previously owned and worked in a pharmacy, I have obtained adequate experience and am capable of doing all the tasks that are required for a pharmacist. Owning a pharmacy and being the main pharmacist there has made me a strong leader and has given me the ability to solve all problems on my own. It has shown me the hardships of building a new pharmacy, and thus I have first-hand experience with implementing successful marketing strategies that can make a pharmacy grow. I undertook many responsibilities, including hiring staff pharmacists, technicians, OTC clerks, and coordinating them to work as a team and to follow a set plan of action. I implemented different types of advertising strategies, managed billings, accounting and financials, and successfully communicated with other healthcare professionals. I am a very diligent worker that is keen on finishing the required task accurately and on time, therefore never leaving a job undone.

Owning a pharmacy has also taught me the importance of punctuality, as I would have to open and close the pharmacy on time. Making regular deliveries and promoting conversation with my customers has given me the opportunity to know my customers not only on a business level, but also on a personal level. This has increased customer loyalty as well as a greater knowledge of the prescriptions and medications that patients are taking. From previously working at other pharmacies, I have also learned the importance of following instructions and having all tasks done efficiently.
